Almost Ready To Roll

Hello Lovelies!
Hoping all is well with you. I wanted to share some of my recent projects this past week. I am getting ready for a wonderful weekend Glamp-out.

This will be the first time Jewel will travel the open road, so lots to do! This event is really going to be a fun one, because you can set up shop and peddle your wares too! So as you can imagine, my head is spinning with ideas galore! And I can't wait to see all those trailers, all cute and dressed up!

I have been on a mission to find some of those aluminum lawn chairs, you know, the ones we had as kids from the 60's- 70's. I remember as a child, these being  little death traps, falling over and getting pinched when you opened them up, etc. Since then I have had two sets of these chairs in the past, and have gave them away, thinking I didn't have a need for them. I could just kick myself now.

Now that I had an idea for a clever way to dec them out, do you think I could find them? No not so much, and if I have seen them, they are selling for astronomical amounts of money,+ shipping, which I refuse to pay.

I am a thrifty girl, and know that I will stumble upon the "deal" at some yard sale, estate sale or thrift store. I did find one the other day, and this is what it looked like "before."

Took it apart and cleaned up the planks a bit..

Cleaned up the frame, and taped and papered and ready for paint...

Primed up the slats...

Painted them Pink!!! And brightened up the arms with some white, and Wa La!

A perfect chair for our Glamp-out!!!
Didn't it turn out great? I did this project all myself, it was pretty easy too.

If you can't find it, make it!

Painted up a spice rack too...

And a matching bench for some extra seating... I love the distressing and how it turned out.

Look at how cute!

Painted my trailer butt to match her stripes that she got for Easter.

Been hanging pretties too...
And hung a little pot and tool rack, this will come in quite handy since there is not a lot of counter space.
And here is the spice rack all hung and ready... works great!

Almost ready, still lots to do... packing, pricing, groceries, and menu planning.. Boy I will need a vacation by the time I get ready for this vacation. LOL!

She is getting some new tires this week too, and she will be ready to roll... I will share lots of pics of the camp out  "Glamp-out" when I return. Until then, Have a wonderful week!!!

  3. Dear Glamper-Babe.............THIS IS SO FUN!!!! I love what you've done with your decorating of Jewel, she's quite lovely! The bed looks perfect for reading a good book or having a nap.......love the bedspread.
And I remember those chairs.......they were not the most comfy thing to sit on either and you had red lines on your thighs when you got up!!! Now THAT is an attractive look, right?
You've hit on a note here. Don't get rid of stuff you may need for Glamping! We are going to be getting our camper in a few years to hit the road (in short bursts) and my dream is to make it NOT look like a camper from the factory. I'm thinking I should set aside the things that would work RIGHT NOW and put them in a box. I have the chenille bedspread and tons of quilts and pillows and some fabric that would be darling curtains. Dishes and decorations are going to be on my list to find NOW and put aside. And IF I find those chairs, I'll be sure to get a couple and name them after YOU!
Happy Glamping, girl. Have a ball and take lots of photos so we can live through you!!!! Oh, and sell a lot, too!

    1. Thanks Jan, sounds like your already ahead of the game by finding things now and setting them aside. Gosh there are so many clever ideas for decorating, I can't wait to see what you end up getting. And Yes! Those red lines from those old lawn chairs are super attractive! I had forgotten about that! LOL! Etsy is a great place for vintage camping decor, you can get lost for days looking at all of the offerings there! It's my favorite place to shop. I so appreciate your visit, it's always a delight to hear from you! ~Hugs
