Pretty Little Things

Hello Lovelies!
Been a bit since I last posted on my blog.
Shameful...
I have just been busy in the studio working on several projects that I needed to finish up, and started some new ones too!
Thought I would share a few of them with you today.

Finished up a pile of trailer pillows, still have some in the works, I like to go back to them "in between" projects. That way, I am not just doing the same thing over and over. I find, for me, that I cannot do just one thing, or I become bored, well maybe not bored, but a little dis-interested maybe?

Finished up a wall piece, titled: "Her Destiny Had Been Written In The Stars."
This is a paper collage, painted borders, and added a little sparkle. I love these stars, they are like little mirrors, that catch any light in the room. "It's like Magic!"

I really love working with paper, it makes my heart sing!!!

Finished working on a few pieces for a private swap.
A little gift box... With some little secrets inside...

A few fairy bookmarks...

And a Treat Cone to hold these items in...

Hope she likes them :) I sure had fun making them for her!

And something totally new for me, an Art Journal! This has been really fun, painting and pulling out my stamps, pens and trims. I love the idea of having a collaborative book of artsy works that I can look back on, down the road. It's fun to practice new things, and see what you like. Pretty much anything goes with these journals, and that's really opened up the door of possibilities for me.

I would like to try all kinds of things with the backgrounds, and just let go...

 Fun!
I like the fact that there are no rules, just play... who cares about perfection. As you can see from my girl.. Ha! Ha! I need some practice with faces, but if I keep trying, who knows, maybe someday I'll be able to paint a girl without silver dollar sized, crazy eyes, and correct proportions. Still it's fun to try.

You never know where something new can take you. Just start, try something different, you might find your new passion, and I guarantee you'll have fun either way.
Take Care...
~Susan Xo

  1. Those trailer pillows are just too stinkin' cute! I'm with you...can't work on the same thing all the time or I get bored. I actually love your big-eyed girl. We all get a little crazy-eyed at times. Your pics are delightful!
